How website get listed when you search your Query in Google Search Engine.

The topic on which I am writing is a bit Esoteric, the person who deals with the building of Search Engine, or the person involved in the Search Engine Optimization can better explain this, but to my knowledge I will try my best to explain what are the Factors which decide which website will be listed first and so on, when you enter your Query in Search Engine.

Whenever a normal user of Google Search Engine Enter his Query in Search Engine, he would barely give a thought on how and from where these results are coming, to explain this, I would place the matter of facts on roster.

1. The Search Engine works in three Steps Web Crawling, Indexing and Searching.

2. Web Crawling à Web Crawling is he method in which the robots(automatic source codes) of Google crawls the web for the new links of websites or Web Pages and if they find any new link they store them in their database.

3. Indexing à Indexing is the Efficient Storing of data and making Indexes (just as we use Index of a Book for better Searching) so that Searching can be made Faster.

4. Searchingà Final and the important one is Searching.

Now the main Question is for a particular Keyword, how the website are listed from such large database. In the Earlier days Search Engine used a funda that, the web page which has got maximum hits will be at the top of the result, but the way Google worked and Became popular is explained below

1. Every page in database of Google has a page rank, Page rank is a rank out of 10.

2. Pages with highest page rank will appear first, i.e. page with rank 1 will come before a page with a rank 2.

4. But how this page rank is decided for a particular page?? Well here comes the main funda of google , the page with maximum Back links will have highest page rank.

5. Now another question entering your mind would be what is back link?? Back links are no of links from other websites or Web Pages to your Web page, i.e. number of websites referring to your web page.

6. But what if one started creating back links himself, that is referring his own website from the other website which one owns, for getting Good result in Search Engine.

7. Google have Solution of this also, Your website will have better page rank if the Back links are from a page which have Good Page Rank, thus now Quality matters more than Quantity.

8. Apart from this there are many Optimization techniques which a website developer Espouse to get Good position in Search Engines. Like Keyword optimization, Placing of Meta, h1 and h2 tags etc.

Hope After reading all this whenever you enter any Query in Search Engine, you once take your mind to the long process the website developer would have gone through to get that results…
